To Create a Schedule

  1. Click on the Project Menu option bar.
  2. Click on Schedule in the Field Tools section.

The Schedule form displays with the Task List View selected as the default view (as indicated by the blue text). Note* The default view can be changed by Schedule Administrators.

  1. Click the + Add Task button.

The New Task form displays.

The only required fields are the Name and Duration. For this example, the Assigned To and Start Dates are also entered (although those fields are optional):

  1. Enter the Name of the task.
  2. Enter the Duration. The Duration is in Days.
  3. Enter the Start Date.
    1. Click in the Start Date and the calendar displays.
    2. Select a Start Date.
The Finish Date is automatically set based on the Duration and Start Date.
  1. Set the Assigned To:
    1. Click the Edit Button next to the Assigned To text. The Select Project Contacts form displays. It will show the two Project Contacts that were entered.
    2. Click on the box on the far left on the row of the Project Contact to select. It will be filled in blue to indicate its selected.
    3. Click the Save button to assign the task to that Contact.
The Assigned To is filled in with the Contact and their Company Name.

The Status displays in the top with color coding.

There is other information that can be entered for the task, such as setting the status, setting work to be on weekends, entering a Category, Trades or Notes, setting the progress, entering dependencies and uploading Attachments.

  1. Scroll to the bottom of the form to see all of the data that can be entered (but for this example and to demonstrate how easy it is to add the item, the rest of the fields can just be left blank).
  1. Click the Save button.

The Task is displayed in the list.

By default, the Assigned To person is sent an email notifying them they've been assigned a task with a link to the task so they can update it. See Email Notification - Task Assigned.
