Things to do before you add a Commitment
Adding a New Commitment - Overview
This is help for adding a new commitment when both Purchase Orders and Subcontracts can be created.
Note 1* In order to add a new Commitment, the User must have ADD permissions for Commitments.
Note 2* The process to create a Commitment differs depending on whether or not both Subcontracts and Purchase Orders can be created in the system (or just one or the other). This is a system Setting, see Settings - Commitments - Commitment Settings - Enable Purchase Orders/Subcontracts. This is help for when both Purchase Orders and Subcontracts can be created.

To Add a New Commitment
- Access the project, see Project - Accessing.
- Access the Commitments List, see Commitments List - Accessing.
For more information on the layout of the Commitments List, see Commitments List - Layout. - Click the New Commitment
button.
There will then be a drop down, where a new Subcontract or New Purchase Order can be selected to be created.

- Click on Subcontract or Purchase Order.
Depending on the option selected, the New Purchase Order or New Subcontract form displays.
