Terms
The agreed timeframe within which the General Contractor pays the vendor's invoices, for example, Net 30, meaning payment is due 30 days from the invoice date.
Terms are preset by Users with permissions to change Settings for Commitments (See Permissions - System Features - Settings for more information).
Note* There is also Payment Terms which can be used to further describe conditions or timings that must be met before payment is released.
- Users that have Add or Edit permissions can not set the Terms (either during the initial add or when editing an existing Purchase Order)
- Only Admin users can set the Terms.
The Terms can be removed i.e. set to No Terms.
For more information on where the Terms are used, see Commitments - Fields - Usage and Configuration.
This help assumes the New Purchase Order form OR the Purchase Order - View/Maintain form is displayed with the General component selected (see Suggested Prior Reading above).
Viewing the Terms only
If the User has only Add or Edit permissions, the Terms are grayed out and not editable.
