Description/Notes
Free-text detail about what is being purchased or done under the Purchase Order, such as scope, materials, quantities, or special instructions, that doesn't fit in the Title or the other structured fields.
Users that have Add, Edit or Admin permissions can enter, change or remove the Description/Notes.
The Description/Notes are visible to View Only users or external users.
For more information on where the Description/Notes is used, see Commitments - Fields - Usage and Configuration.
The Description/Notes is free form text.
How the Description/Notes display and is entered depends on Settings for Commitments. A user with permissions to change Settings for Commitments (See Permissions - System Features - Settings) can set whether the Description Notes are entered and display as plain text or rich text. This setting applies to all users and is on/off for all Purchase Orders and Subcontracts.
Plain Text contains no styling formatting like bolding, italics, colors, custom fonts. Rich text enables applying styling like bolding, italics, underlining, colors, custom font sizes, unordered lists, numbered lists, paragraph formatting (left, right, center, full, indent or out dent) and tables.
