Entering Amounts for Line Items

How the Amounts are entered for Line Items depends on the Accounting Method set. See Schedule of Values - Accounting Method for more details.

This setting and other various factors determine how Line Items display, see Things to review for Job Costing.

Amount Based

If the Accounting Method is set to Amount Based, the line items will have a single Amount column.

  1. Enter the Amount of that line item (excluding taxes or Financial Markups).

The Subtotal of that Line Item is automatically set to the Amount (then adding any financial markups that are applicable).

Unit Quantity Based

If the Accounting Method is set to Unit-Qty Based, the line items will have a

  • Quantity
  • Unit
  • Unit Price

All three columns are required.

  1. Enter the amounts for all three columns.

The Subtotal of that Line Item is automatically calculated by multiplying the Quantity x Unit x the Unit Price (then adding any financial markups applicable).

Enter additional details and/or Save the Information
  1. Add, Edit or View additional Line Item information, see More Information below.
    OR
    Click the Save button to save the information on all the components.
    OR
    Click the Save & Email button to save the form and send an email with the form as an attachment and a link to the item in JobPlanner.
    OR
    Click the Close button to close the form without saving the information.
