Sorting Columns Overview

The information in columns can be sorted in descending order or ascending order (if in descending order, numbers are listed first, then characters)

If a column can be sorted it will contain dark grey or light grey up and down arrows. A dark arrow indicates that column is the currently active sorted column and the way it is pointing indicates the sort order

  • Dark Arrow Up: Ascending order
  • Dark Arrow Down: Descending order

On the Cost Code list, there are two types of rows:

Divisions

Cost Codes

The columns in both types of rows can be sorted:

Divisions - can sort by the Division

Cost Codes - can sort on the columns in the Cost Codes, but the sort is only within the Division the Cost Code is in (it doesn't effect the sorting of Cost Codes in other Divisions).

To Sort Divisions

To sort the divisions:

  1. From the Cost Codes List (see Cost Codes List - Accessing), click on the Division Column Header
  2. Click on it again to change the sort direction.
To Sort on Cost Code Columns within a Division

To sort on cost code columns within a Division, the Division must first be expanded out.

  1. From the Cost Codes List (see Cost Codes List - Accessing), expand the Division, see Cost Codes List - Expand/Collapse Divisions.

The Code and Name can be sorted on.

  1. Click on the column header to set the sort on that column
  2. To change the way a column sorts, click on the Column Header again to change the sort direction.
