Search for Contacts by Location
There are three components to enter for searches by Location:
- The locations to search: the Contacts Office location and/or the Work Areas identified for the Contacts
- Zip Code to search from
- The number of miles to search.
The Contact Office location is the address entered for the Contact. See View, Add, Edit Contacts - Contact Details.
The Work Areas are the work areas setup for the Contact - see View/Add/Edit Contacts (and Companies) - Work Areas.
- On the Add Participants from Address Book form, click on the Work Areas, Office Location drop down.
- By default, both Work Areas and Office Location are selected (have a check mark next to them). At least one of these options have to be selected (they can't be all unchecked and the system won't allow all to be unchecked).
- To unselect Work Areas and/of Office Locations to search, click on the option. The check mark is removed. The drop down list remains displayed.
- Click on an option again to select it (the check mark appears again)
- When the selections are complete, click anywhere outside of the drop down to exit the drop down list. The selection(s) will display in the drop down box.
- Type in the Zip Code to search from. Note* On certain forms, the zip code for the project is displayed at the top of the form.
- Click in the Miles drop down box and select the distance
- Click the Search button to invoke the Search. The Contacts within that Location are displayed (either the Work Area Distance or the Office Location Distance - whatever was selected)

- To enter text to search for in addition to setting the Location, enter the Search text as well as the Locationinformation and then click the Search button. See Add Participants from Address Book - Search Text. If both are entered, AND logic is applied.

- Click the Clear button to clear any search or filters applied.

More Information
To apply more criteria to narrow the list:
- Type text to search for. See Search Text.
- Set a Filter on Contact Type, Contact Status or by Primary Contact. See Type, Status, Misc.
- Set a Filter for Approved or Unapproved - Note* this only shows when adding Project Contacts, not Bidding Participants.
- Set a Filter on Trade(s). See Trades.
