Overview
The Status is used to manage the Change Request. See Change Request – Status for a description of all the Statuses and the functional impacts and see Change Request – Status - Where Used for where Status(es) are displayed and reported and how they are used.
When adding a Change Request, the Status defaults to Draft (but can be changed during the add if required).
The Status displays near the top of the New Change Request form, and displays there regardless of which Change Request component is selected: General, Schedule of Values, Financial Markup. The status can be changed when any of those Components are displayed as it is the status for the entire Change Request.
Note* If the Status is changed during the Add, the changed Status displays however, the new Status isn't actually applied until the Change Request is saved. Therefore, during the add session, all the functionality on all the components is still based on the Draft Status (and not necessarily the Status displayed).
To set the Status during the Add
- If not already done, initiate the add of a new Change Request.
Note* The add can be invoked from the Change Requests List OR the Contracts - List of all Change Requests and there are also different views that can be set for All Change Requests Lists. See All Change Requests Lists - Views Examples to determine which view is set for the organization, then see the above Suggested Prior Reading for the applicable view and list).
The New Change Request form displays. See Change Request – Add - Form Layout and Navigation for more information on the form.
- To change the Change Request Status during the Add, click in the Status drop down (it displays near the top of the form below the New Change Request form title and Related Contract and displays regardless of what Component is selected to display: General, Schedule of Values and Financial Markup).

Click the Save
button (at the bottom of the form) to save the Change Request.ORClick here for more information on the Save function.
This saves the Change Request including any information on the General, Schedule of Values and Financial Markups Components.

Click the Save & Email
button (at the bottom of the form) to save the Change Request and email it.ORClick here for more information on the Save and Email function.
This saves the Change Request as including any information on the General, Schedule of Values and Financial Markup components and sends an email with a link to the Change Request in JobPlanner (and optionally include the Change Request as a PDF attachment in the email). The Email can be sent to any Project Contacts. The Email Change Request form displays, see Email Change Request.
Click the Close
button (at the bottom of the form) to close the form without saving the Change Request.Click here for more information on the Close function.
If no information was changed or entered, the list the add or edit function was invoked from displays, see Next Steps below.
If information was changed, then an additional prompt displays indicating there were changes and additional prompts on what to do.
Click the Cancel
button to cancel the Close action and return to the Change Request View/Edit form (see the steps above)

Click the Don't Save
button to cancel changes to the Change Request. The list the add or edit function was invoked from displays, see Next Steps below.
OR
Click the Save
button to save the Change Request including any information on the General, Schedule of Values or Financial Markups components. The list the add or edit function was invoked from displays, see Next Steps below.
